Obama Admin Plans To File Lawsuit Against Arizona Law

Despite finishing its research of Arizona’s controversial illegal immigration law, the Obama administration plans to file a lawsuit against it, according to none other than Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. So get your heads down because it’s going to be a fight.

    CNN
    CNN story
    and FOX News
    FOX News story
are reporting that the Obama administration is taking a strong hand regarding SB 1070, a law that makes it a crime to be an illegal immigrant in the U.S.

The confirmation comes after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in an interview with a TV station in Ecuador earlier this month that the administration would challenge the law in court, though officials had long said the issue was under review.

Administration officials initially would not confirm Clinton’s statement. But an official told Fox News on Friday that while the review is still underway, the decision has already been made that a Department of Justice suit will be filed. The administration at this point is just building its case.

Another official said there are still "substantial" issues to address and work out before the Justice Department knows that it has a strong enough case to file a lawsuit. The official said the department intends to file suit, but that any court action is contingent on the final review, FOX News reports.

So not only does the Justice Department not have all its ducks in a row, but its deciding to start shooting blindly at the most controversial, most widely agreed law ever. That makes about as much sense as having a revolving door replacing that impotent fence along the Arizona/Mexican border.

Please see the video to hear Clinton in her own words …

So it’s nice to see that the administration is more concern with a state law that the majority of Americans agree with instead of actually enforcing its own federal laws.

And Americans do agree with it. An April Gallup poll
    Gallup poll
finds that 51 percent of Americans are in favor of Arizona’s new law while 39 percent oppose it. In fact, Rasmussen Reports
    Rasmussen Reports poll
did a survey and found that 56 percent of Americans are against the administration challenging the Arizona law, while 26 percent think the Justice Department should go after it. Isn’t the majority suppose to rule in this country?

And do you know what the beauty of it is? The real slap in the face to those who value states’ rights? While the administration has no problem telling the people of Ecuador that the Justice Department is going to do a half-assed job of shredding the law, but they never had the decency to tell Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer about it first.

Maybe it’s a bit too much out-of-the-box thinking for President Obama and his illegal-immigration loving, Kool-Aid followers, but just maybe if they put this much effort into protecting our borders and giving as much help and open communications with our states, maybe we wouldn’t have such a huge problem with people illegally entering our country.

Or is that asking for too much?
