Watch my rant about unbalanced racism between what Rev. Wright and Mel Gibson said. Both are wrong. But the column's better!
Do you know what burns my bacon? Rev. Jeremiah Wright and actor Mel Gibson are back in the news for alleged racist comments.
Let's start with President Obama’s former pastor, who was allowed to teach a five-day class at the Chicago Theological Seminary last week, reported The New York Post
New York Post story, but his lectures sounded as if they were bastardized versions of Adolf Hitler’s fireside chats.
“And now the Knesset (Israeli parliament) is meeting with European Jews, voting on whether or not these African Jews can get into (Israel).”
“You are not now, nor have you ever been, nor will you ever be a brother to white folk. And if you do not realize that, you are in serious trouble.”
Of course white Americans are against blacks so much that we even elected a biracial one as president.
But even Wright’s hateful rant wasn’t aimed only at whites and Jews. He even attacked fellow blacks, saying that the great Martin Luther King Jr. was wrong to preach non-violence to black Americans and that the Civil Rights Movement wasn’t about having equal rights, but “It was always about becoming white … to master what (they) do.”
Now it would be nice if civil rights leaders, such as the Revs. Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson got on national TV and criticize Wright’s latest racist outburst, but it’s not going to happen.
But people are lining up to take a crack at Mel Gibson, who yelled at Oksana Grigorieva his former girlfriend and mother of their daughter. Allegedly caught on tape recorded by Grigorieva, Gibson said:
“You look like a f---ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n--gers it will be your fault.”
In the tape, he allegedly said he would burn her house down, reported The L. A. Times
L.A. Times story. Hard to believe women used to go weak in the knees for this charmer.
And let’s not forget that Gibson has something in common with Wright: Remember his tirade about Jews.
The fact is racism is racism no matter how you slice it. As a society we wouldn’t accept any form of racism, but apparently we do. At the time of this writing, a search on Google News of “Rev. Jeremiah Wright” only yielded 57 results, while a “Mel Gibson” search received a whopping 3,410 hits
Google search results for Gibson and Wright. A little biased maybe?
The skinny? Both Wright and Gibson are flat out wrong. We should no longer accept any form of racism — against blacks, whites, Jews or other — no matter who it comes from.
